URGENT Windows Update (all versions)

The bulletin warns of a remote code execution attack that can spread rapidly across the internet. Evidence of this RPC attack was first found two weeks ago and infects machines without any user interaction. In other words you don’t have to do anything and you can still get infected.

Previous service pack installations offer no protection and Windows 2000, XP and Server2003 are easy targets for this threat. Even Vista and Server 2008 are vulnerable although somewhat more protected by User Account Controls and data- execution protection.

It’s important to note that firewalls are the first line of defense but even with firewalls in place, once the threat has access within a network it spreads like the plague. The patch must be installed to all single machines or machines within a network to assure protection.

In addition to installing the patch offered by Microsoft, you should check that your Antivirus software has issued new definitions for this threat and that your definitions are up to date.

I suggest first installing the patch manually from the list below. Choose the patch for your particular Windows version. Be sure to restart your PC after installing the patch to confirm that your PC is bootable and then a second reboot will complete replacement of patched components.

Save Net Neutrality!

You might have seen a post or two about this on the old blog, which is way long gone by now. Anyway if you don’t know what Net Neutrality is watch this video, it’s a documentary all about net neutrality.

We NEED net neutrality, without this net neutrality this blog would NOT be existing right now. Independent Internet radio? Nope. Other indie blogs? Nada. We NEED to stand up for this as our rights as citizens of the United States. Without net neutrality you bascially wouldn’t be freely able to publish your OWN content onto the web. Just like TV and Radio. In both TV and radio, you cannot publish something on those platforms without a license. It’s really absurb, so do your part on contact your local state representative. TOGETHER we CAN fight this to the freaking death.

Here is a great resource to help you get started in this fight:

Howie Day – Collide

Vote NO on proposition 8

Damn, I was watching the local California commercials, because I was watching CBS online (which I’ll talk about later in another blog post). anyway they were saying that these susposibly parents of this kid, came home from school on day and their kid told them about how they were learning about how two males can marry or something like that. And the effing parents were like ‘horrified’ about it, saying that shouldn’t be learning that “crap” in schools. This commericial just pisses me off, first of all if that law WERE to go into effect. Then it would be serverly limiting OUR rights as citizens. Who the hell says we can’t marry whoever we want? Apparently the law will if this law goes into effect. This is NOT how we should be treated. And second of all who the hell cares about if the children learn about gay marriage. If WE choose NOT to teach them that then that’s just making it seem awkward for THEM when THEY grow up. What if they turn out to be bi or gay? It sure the hell wouldn’t be because of us or whatever they teach them in schools. So if that law were to be in effect, then when THEY grow up. and IF they have a relationship with a person of the opposite sex, and they want to show their love for the other person or whatever. Then how the fuck can they? Like I said it severely limits US as a society. WE SHOULD BE ABLE TO MARRY WHOEVER WE WANT. End of story really.

What about the kids, you say? Well just because we teach them that people of the same sex can marry, doesn’t mean that they are going to turn out gay or something. and IF they were to turn out gay, then are YOU (as a parent) going to say “Oh fuck you, you’re gay” then put them up for adoption or just otherwise look DOWN upon them just because of their freaking sexuality? That’s JUST what you are doing if you vote yes on prop. 8. How does it make the kid feel later in life. I know I am still afraid to tell my parents that I am Bi. All this really just is freaking dumb, and makes society screwy.

So in summary, just vote NO on proposition 8. It is wrong and immoral to US in a society. Doesn’t matter on your sexuality, it effects all of us as a whole.
